Presets picture settings

Sony Bravia XD 80

i tend to switch between the ‘Standard’ picture mode and ‘Custom’ with custom being just slightly beefed up in colour and motion control off.

as an experiment I made the custom setting exactly the same as the standard setting yet flicking between the two they are still noticeably different. The Custom setting seems to have higher contrast and sky whites/clouds seem more blown out than standard. Shouldn’t these be no different with exactly the same settings? Anything else that might be affecting the picture??
