KD49XF9005 HDD issues

Hello

Last week I bought a Sony Bravia type KD-49XF9005. I changed my Samsung tv

When I connect a HDD to look a movie I have the following issues:.

- USB is not detected in list of sources - HDMI/AV ports are shown

- Files are shown as pictures. There is no list and although very difficult to find a file

- I cannot change the image ratio.

Is this normal behaviour ? or do I do something wrong ?

Hi @rbeckers55, welcome to the Community.

Sometimes there is an issue with the formatting or storage capacity of the drive, but in any event you can get around a lot of these issues by using either a media streaming app (something like Plex works well, or use a DLNA setup) or plug in to the USB port of a peripheral device, such as a games console or DVD/BluRay player.

The latter option is often the easiest and most reliable, in my experience. Let me know if you need any help with any of these options.

Thanks for your message.

I resolved the problem following your advice. I installed PLEX and VLC to have a proper overview of content list.

However it is still not possible to modify video modus on a movie from USB..
